Hotel Villas Caracol Holbox

What an amazing hotel - one of the best I’ve ever stayed! Highly recommend staying here. The staff are amazing and friendly, rooms are clean, the restaurant (from breakfast to dinner) is incredible. It’s a lovely beach side walk into town and is peaceful and quiet. The pool area has a swim up bar and you can order food and drinks to your lounger. They helped us organise transfers and activities all of which were brilliant - huge thank you Villas Caracol we will be back!! P.s you get a free evening cocktail for the sunset on the beach every night which made the trip very special.

The gold standard for people who like peace and quiet: Everybody is genuinely friendly. The restaurant is excellent, morning, lunch or dinner. The service by Beto and the rest of the staff was superb, whether you were eating at the restaurant or lazily on the beach. The music was generally very good and the volume was not loud (a very rare thing these days). The hotel is very tastefully built and hidden amongst the palms and trees, it sets the bar high for the rest of the island. The perfect opposite of Cancun's horrible hotel strip. The location is superb, the sea is like a big, private pool, whether you want to swim or walk (the water reaches your knees at the sand banks) all the way to the area with flamingos. The water is fresh in the mornings and nights, and warm/hot during the day. The amount of details, from arranging a free boat trip whilst the place underwent repairs for a few hours, to facilitating borrowing cash, to getting courtesy drinks to watch the sunset, to name but a few (of the very many) things they did for us, this is what really caring about your guests looks like. Didn't get a chance to catch the owner's name but my hat goes off to you sir, this was a vacation to remember. We'll definitely go back.

The rooms are great, staff is very attentive. It‘s not overcrowded and lovely pool area. We were not the biggesz fan of the restaurant/food/breakfast they served (kind of fatty) but other than that can only recommend if staying at Holbox.

We are on our penultimate day here and wanted to say how amazing its been. We had a bigger room, with a beautiful outside bath on the balcony, overlooking the pool and beach. The room is gorgeous, lovely products in the bathroom. The breakfasts here are unbelievable - the choice and quality! Theres kayaks to take out, yoga classes. The beach area straight out front is perfect, really nice beds under a good shade canopy. The hotel and staff do small things that make this really special (sunset drinks, little treats in your room in the evening). The restaurant is one of the best meals we've had. Lastly the front of house staff and restaurant and bar staff are so lovely and friendly. The whole trip has been really special and so pleased we stayed here.

I stayed at Hotel Villas Caracol and another premium hotel on the Island. Hotel Villas Caracol is by far the best accommodation on the island. The rooms are fantastic - spacious and comfortable and set amongst the greenery. With only a small number of rooms, the hotel feels quiet yet buzzy enough. The beach area in front is one of the nicest parts on the island and the hotel staff are lovely. They have a WhatsApp where you can communicate with the front desk and the lovely ladies were always quick to respond to my messages and provide information. I would have stayed longer if I could. Look forward to staying again.

All very good, especially the staff and location. A couple or areas to improve. The cold water in our room wasn’t cold at all so that could be improved. The mattress was too firm for our liking but that’s just a personal preference. The food generally was very good and the menu is suitably diverse but a little expensive we thought. We are likely to return in a few years.

The hotel is really beautiful, the rooms are big and with very nice design, the pool is also very good, with different depths. The restaurant is delicious and with reasonable prices. We arrived to the hotel from the ferry using a taxi, since we had backpacks and it was super warm. But during the stay you can reach the “city center” on foot by walking on the seaside and it takes max 20 mins. They also have a couple of kayaks which you can use for free.
